Alba O Valentino, 95, of Scottsdale AZ, previously residing in Carlsbad, CA, Springhill, FL and Garnerville, NY, passed away on Monday July 10, 2017.
There will be a funeral mass on Thursday July 13th at 11am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Parish officiated by Father Thomas. Visitation will begin at 10am. The church is located at 6221 N Granite Reef Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. Interment and a graveside service will take place on Saturday July 15th at Grace Memorial Gardens in Port Ritchie, FL. Time is pending.
Alba was born in the Bronx, NY to Enrico and Rafaela Matrisciani on October 16, 1921. She was the first Director of the Foster Grandparent Program of Rockland County, NY from 1968 thru 1977. Her lifelong passion was design. She specialized in designing wedding and wedding party dresses. Her most cherished accomplishment was modeling one of her designs in the 1939 New York World's Fair. She loved reading, knitting and crocheting.
Alba is preceded in death by her husband, Pat and siblings, Alex, John, Mario (age 2), Mario, Aurora, and Arthur.
Alba is survived by her children Patricia Maggiore (Tomaso), Vincent Valentino (Diane), Loretta Middlebrook (Jim) and Doreen Makara (John). There are 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with another due in August.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Serenity Hospice Foundation (www.serenityhospicefoundation.org) and Boys Town (www.boystown.org) Condolences may be left in Alba's online guestbook at [WEBSITE URL].
