Bessie Wren South, 95, of Spring Hill, passed away at Sturgill Hospice House on June 16, 2018. Bessie was born on February 27, 1923 in Louisville, KY to Elizabeth and Garnett Wren. She attended Louisville Male High School and was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Albert Russell South. Bessie retired from ATT and was a member of the Pioneer's retiree club for many years. Bessie was a long standing member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Spring Hill. She was an ardent sports fan and loved to go to Rays' baseball games until her health declined and then watched every televised game. She followed the Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida Gators, and Kentucky Wildcats through football and basketball seasons. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with her family and friends. She is survived by her only son, Gary South of Spring Hill; grandson, Zebulon South (Anna-Marie) of Lexington, KY and very special "adopted daughter" Elizabeth Hoeft of Spring Hill. Services will be held at Brewer & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19th from 6-8. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 20th at 10am.
