EUGENE "GENE" GORDON CLARK, 64, of Groveland, FL passed away March 25, 2012 at his residence. Gene was born January 9, 1948 in Winchester, VA. He was a retired carpenter and mason, working with Poynter Harder Construction, Weber Construction, Asbury Construction, and Foley International. His specialty was designing and building traditional masonry fireplaces. He enjoyed playing practical jokes on friends, family and co-workers. He loved playing the guitar and singing the songs of Hank Williams, Sr. He appreciated a hard days work in the yard and resting on Sunday with the newspaper.

He is survived by his wife, Christine, of Groveland, FL, daughters Annette Clark of Altamonte Springs, FL and Regina Clark of Winter Garden FL, grandson Dakota Lane Clark, sister Juanita Dabbs of Roanoke, VA, brother Dennie Clark of Winchester, VA and stepfather Alfred Eugene Bunner of Berkley Springs, WV. He is predeceased by his mother, Carmen Bunner, of Cross Junction, VA, brothers Robert Clark of Bloomery, WV, William Clark of Odessa, TX, and Randall Clark of PA.

Gathering in Memory Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at Brewer & Sons Groveland Chapel, 132 E. Magnolia St., Groveland, FL. In lieu of flowers donations to the South Lake Animal League would be appreciated.
