Ferdinand Victor "Fred" Kolasa, 73 of Brooksville Florida passed away January 4, 2017. Fred was born in Michigan City, Indiana to Ferdinand and Virginia Kolasa. Fred's youth was spent growing up in Indiana before moving to Hialeah Florida where he soon would meet the love of his life Marlene. Fred was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brooksville, Florida. Fred was also a proud member of the Local Iron Worker Union #397 since 1971.
Fred retired from Florida Crushed Stone/Rinker in 2005. Fred and Marlene achieved their dreams and traveled west in their truck and camper and saw many beautiful places.
They often talked about these trips and their time together.
To know Fred was to love Fred and his gentle spirit and quick sense of humor. He was an animal lover and was the original horse whisperer. Fred was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. If it needed fixing he could fix it. It didn't matter who you were or where you came from he had an open heart to help.
Fred Kolasa is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marlene Kolasa, His three sons- Dr. Mark Kolasa(Kaki Kolasa) of Fairfield, California, Keith Kolasa(Jill Kolasa) of Brooksville, FL and Fred Kolasa(Jennifer) of Brooksville Florida. Six Grandchildren- Hunter Kolasa, Kelsey Victoria Kolasa, Cole William Kolasa, Makenzie Kolasa, Alex Kolasa and Samantha Rose Kolasa. Fred is also survived by his older sister, Laura Kolasa. He was very proud of all his sons and grandchildren and loved them. Fred is survived by his niece and nephews- Marlene and Gene Belcher, Jack and Barb Hertz and PJ Moshanko and their families.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brooksville, Florida on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer Research or to the ASPCA organization.

The Kolasa Family wish to express our warmest gratitude to all who loved Fred and were a part of his life. We feel truly blessed to have had this wonderful man in our lives.
