Hazel Inez Holland Poore, 89, born February 24, 1929 in Hendricks County, Indiana at the home of her parents, Charles Nathaniel and Loie Ferne Holland; passed away April 26, 2018. Hazel was pre-deceased by her husband of 68 years, Richard L. Poore; and is survived by their four daughters Donna Dobberfuhl (Ned) and Linda Lobeck of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Hewitt (Mark) of Palmersville, TN and Susan Garrett (James) of Weeki Wachee, FL, four grandchildren; Catherine Leigh Aldrich (Scott), James Matthew Garrett (Jami), Erin E. Colson (Tyler), Jeffrey Holland Hewitt (Megan), and three great-grand children; Meagan and Logan Aldrich and Rosalyn E. Hewitt. Sisters Grace Henderson of Arizona, Mildred Casey of Mooresville IN and brother George Holland of San Antonio, Texas.

Hazel was also pre-deceased by her sisters Mae Stewart, Florence Donavan, June Stucki, brothers James, Charles (CC) and Glen Holland.

Hazel and Richard moved from Crawfordsville, IN to Spring Hill, FL in 1988. While in Crawfordsville she held the office of Union Township Assessor for two terms and was active in the First Baptist Church . She loved helping in VBS, was an avid reader, bowler and was an accomplished seamstress. Hazel was a lifetime member of The American Legion Post # 72 Auxiliary, Precinct Committee-person for Montgomery County, Past President of the Republican Women's Club, Retired Secretary for Montgomery County Central Committee and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Dorothy Q. Chapter. After moving to Spring Hill, FL she became a member of Northcliffe Baptist Church. She was a member of the Hernando County Republican Club and enjoyed being involved in politics. She loved volunteering at Spring Hill Elementary School, and did so for several years.

Friends will be received on May 8th from 5-8 p.m. at Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes - Spring Hill Chapel-4450 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL 34606. Funeral service will be held on May 9th at 10 a.m. at Brewer and Sons - Spring Hill Chapel with internment at the Florida National Cemetery near Bushnell, Florida, together again with her loving husband, Richard.
