Helen L. Akers, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on April 27, 2018 at Sturgill Hospice Center. Helen was born in Detroit, Michigan and has been a Florida resident for 32 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Russell A. and Lillian (Murphy) Place. Helen is survived by many family members including her daughters, Sharon (Reginald) Hughes and Kathleen (Robert) Taylor; sons, Charles (Shelley) Adermatt, David Adermatt, and James (Lorena) Adermatt; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; along with many other family and friends. Helen was a retired nurse. She was a Baptist, but more importantly, knew Christ as her Savior. Her godly influence on family and friends made her beloved. She loved to sing, did paintings for many in her family, and loved enjoying the outdoors and God's creation. Helen was considered feisty, speaking her mind. Often she said to family and friends, "Well, have you prayed about it?" She will truly be missed.
