Joseph C. Ulto, age 68, of Spring Hill, FL died on June 6, 2018 at Oak Hill Hospital. Born on October 12, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph A. and Olga Ulto and moved to Spring Hill in 1992. An entrepreneur by nature, he will always be known in Hernando County as the owner of Bobby Socks Restaurant and the "Godfather of Doo Wop". He loved his Harley Davidson and often said that there was "nothing better than the feeling of the breeze on the knees". Like every Italian, he loved to cook and was famous for his "Sunday gravy, NOT sauce!" A true New Yorker at heart, Joe was a big fan of the Yankees and Giants and loved gangster movies, Doo Wop, Rock n Roll and talking about the old days in Brooklyn.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Ulto in 1998. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Olga Ulto; children, Marissa (Michael) Valenti, Lauren (Richard) Swiatek, Joseph Ulto, Karli Ulto, and Nicholas Ulto; fiancée, Dannie Lloyd and her daughter Steffanie; grandchildren, Christopher, Lily, Nina, and Gia. Funeral arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes, 280 Mariner Blvd. Spring Hill, FL 34609. Joseph's family and friends will gather from 1-3 and 5-7 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018. The Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 6:30 PM with St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church officiating.
