Julia Freels Chwalik, 90 in March, of Brooksville, passed away January 4, 2018. She was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1954 Julia married her husband, Walt Chwalik in Columbia, South Carolina, where he was stationed in the army. Julia taught English and was a financial advisor in Miami where they lived until 2014. Julia and her family made their Brooksville ranch their final home. Julia was very active and loved being a part of many organizations; these included the Audubon Society, the Garden Club, Junior League, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a firm believer and furthering one's education and helped many people reach their goals.

Julia is predeceased by her husband, Walter Chwalik.

She is survived by her children, Jay Chwalik and his wife, Jackie of Juno Beach, FL; Cindy Chwalik of Brooksville, FL; Judy Hnatiuk and her husband, Glen of Weeki Wachee, FL; Susan Chwalik of Weeki Wachee, FL; grandchildren, Jason and James Chwalik; Aileen and Morgan Hnatiuk; Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Emily Kies; sister, Mary Nelson White of Naples, FL; loving family and friends.
