discharged from the Navy he entered college in Bicknell, In and received a bachelor degree in Hospital Administration, after which he established his own business. He was active in the Shriners as a clown, Pockets, and loved entertaining the children at the hospital and riding in the parades driving a small car. For many years he was an avid golfer. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW. He loved watching birds and the wonderful wildlife that God created. What a beautiful voice he had! While at the VA Hospital he told jokes to the men in his ward and the nurses, but also sang for them as well. College basketball was his first love and he and his son Joe B. used to go over their favorite picks for March Madness and discuss why their teams would outdo the others. His favorite college basketball team was Indiana University, are you surprised? People from every walk of life were drawn to him by his winning personality, his wit and the warmth he projected. Sunday was his favorite day of the week and he worshiped God at the contemporary services as a member of the First United Methodist Church on Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill, FL.
