Marjorie "Marnie" Sawyer, age 90 of Spring Hill, FL and Milford, CT, devoted wife and mother, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 while recovering from a recent illness. Born in Stamford, CT on August 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. Harrington Sr. and Natalie DeWolfe Harrington. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur O. Sawyer Jr. and her brother Howard J. Harrington Jr. She is survived by her daughter Susan V. Sawyer of Milford, CT, her sister Claudia Heinlein, cousin Maureen Carlson, nieces Dorothy Jordano, Kathleen Yarochowicz in addition to other cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Special thanks to her Florida support team – Nancy, Bud, Gloria, Sue & John, Burdette & Jim, John & David, and Angel. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. James Koh before retiring to Florida. She also worked for the City of Milford in the Comptrollers Office, Board of Education and Police Department. She loved helping others and was known by many for her whiskey cakes that she would give as a small token of her appreciation for a kindness. Visiting hours will be held at Brewer Funeral Home, 280 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill on Tuesday August 15, 2017 from 3 to 6. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1107 Commercial Way, Spring Hill at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Bushnell National Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or a local food pantry.
