WHEATON, Marjorie "Marge" 83 of Clearwater died peacefully Saturday, October 8, 2016. She was born in Paterson, NJ and lived in Verona, NJ. She was the daughter of Rosanna Williams Wheaton and James S. Wheaton. She said "Yes!" to life. She was an accomplished artist and loved to design interior spaces. She was raised in a musical family and sang in the chorus in many shows produced by the Montclair (NJ) Operetta Club. She became a proficient scuba diver and traveled the world, diving and taking underwater photos in the Red Sea and in Palau and Truk Lagoon, as well as the Caribbean. She was a Team Member on the Earthwatch Underwater Geology Scientific Research Project. In her professional life her passion and expertise were in technical writing. As well as running her own business for years, she worked for GTE Data Services (GTEDS) in Temple Terrace, FL and for Equifax Card Services in St. Petersburg, FL. She was predeceased by her brother James W. Wheaton of Largo, FL and is survived by her sister, Virginia Hallager of San Antonio, TX, her niece, Katherine Barden of Valrico, FL, and three nephews: James A. Wheaton of Sebastopol, CA, William D. Wheaton of Pinehurst, NC, and Michael J. Hallager of Phuket, Thailand. She has two grand-nieces and one grand-nephew. No services will be held but donations in her memory may be made to the Suncoast Animal Welfare League, 1030 Pennsylvania Ave., Palm Harbor, FL, 34683.
