Mary Bon... "Ma", "Aggie-Baby", "Marishka", "Mother Mary", "Aunt Mary", "Grandma", "Mema-Bon", "Toodles", "Gigi"... So many names for one woman! But, Oh what an incredible woman she was! She loved her family more than words could express, and we couldn't love her more if we tried! Her smile would brighten a room and her blue eyes would melt your heart!
The wife of a chicken farmer, Mother of six, Grandma of 10 and Great- Grandma of 20... she lead a very full life, and she loved every minute of it! She loved to watch football, NASCAR and Westerns, and the ones starring "The Duke", John Wayne, were her favorite! She loved a good party, and playing Polka Music would surely get her on the dance floor! Christmas Eve was a tradition at her house for many years, and birthdays were always a big deal! No matter how young or how old, she worried about her kids. She always had to know exactly what was going on, who said what, who did what... when, where, & why? She was the Matriarch, and she had a hand in raising each of us, teaching us, helping us learn and grow. You couldn't help but listen and respect her! She wasn't afraid to use a wooden spoon if you got out of line, but if you did what you were asked to do, the reward was well worth it! If you needed a place to stay, her house was always open, but she might greet you with a toothless smile if it was past her bedtime! She had a remedy for whatever ailments you had... nothing a little hot tea with honey, lemon and a bit of whiskey couldn't cure!!!
Every one of us could easily tell you a thousand wonderful stories about this amazing woman... and if you're reading this now, you probably know her well and have a few stories of your own! So, while we appreciate your prayers and condolences, please share your wonderful stories with us! Our family feels this great loss, but we also feel so very blessed to have had so many incredible years with this beautiful lady!!! We all Thank You for your love and friendship, for your kind words and prayers! Please rejoice with us, celebrate her life, and give thanks to our Lord for giving us the gift of Mary Bon!
Until we meet again.....
