Nancy Joyce Blevins
63, of Spring Hill, passed away on Sept. 5, 2018 at her daughter, Jeanie's home. She was born in Baltimore, MD and came to this area 1 yr. ago from Pasadena, MD. She loved to play the drums and harmonica to blues and classic rock music. She enjoyed celebrating her Native American heritage and even learned some of the Cherokee language. She enjoyed studying civil war history, visiting civil war battlefields, ghost hunting, dancing, singing, entertaining, and writing songs and jingles. She spent her life saving all kinds of animals, reptiles, and birds. She was affectionally called Mamma Bird because she especially loved to feed and talk to the birds. She was also nicknamed Chicken (but she thought this name made her sound like a coward) although she accepted it in good humor. She also was an avid reader, loved glitter on everything, and dark chocolate M&Ms.

We will most remember and grievously miss her light, humor, playfulness, kindness, and wisdom.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brooks; 1st husband, Daniel Blevins; 2nd husband, Duane Bittinger; sister, Gloria Jean Sockriter; and brother, Herbert Brooks, Jr.

She is survived by her father, Herbert Brooks, Sr.; daughters, Jeanie Ellis and her husband, Jay of Spring Hill and Crystal Adkins and her husband, Ryan of Glen Burnie, MD; brother, David Brooks and his wife, Candice; and grandson, Sebastian Ellis.

A Life Celebration will be held in Maryland on November 3rd, 2018 from 2-6pm at Anchor of Hope Ministries 502 Victory Way, Pasadena, MD 21122. Anyone who knew Nancy, knew that her signature color was red. So we'd love for everyone to wear something red (or everything!) to the Life Celebration in honor of her.
