Paul Lucien Phelps, 81, of Leesburg, FL passed away April 17, 2018 at Lake Eustis Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eustis, FL. He was born February 4, 1937 in Newark, NY. Paul moved to Leesburg thirteen years ago from Skaneateles, New York. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Mary (Heizman) Phelps, and his parents, Glenn and Bertha (Cottrell) Phelps. Paul is survived by two sons, James Steven (Carol Lincoln) Phelps and Paul Otto (Peg Fahey) Phelps; four grandsons, James H. (Courtney Bodiford) Phelps, Steven L. Phelps, Zach Phelps and Jake Phelps; one granddaughter, Abbey Phelps; two great-granddaughters, Madelyn Phelps and Annabelle Phelps; his brother, Earl Phelps; his sisters, Phyllis Suggs and June Nettleton; his brother-in-law, Neal Wright (Leone Heizman), and other extended family.

Paul was a United States Army Veteran who served in Korea. He was a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse and a former United States Postal Carrier of 35+ years who delivered on various routes in the Syracuse Valley Area. He was an active member of the Valley Men's Club and after moving to Leesburg enjoyed driving neighbors to the Airport, landscaping in the Plantation in Leesburg, FL and loved NASCAR Racing.

Paul will be cremated in Florida. Family and friends will have services on Saturday July 21, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Baldwinsville, N.Y. with a memorial gathering at 9 am followed by a funeral at 10 am. Paul will be put to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Baldwinsville, N.Y immediately following the funeral.

The family has requested that all donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care. ( He was a loving, kind, and generous man and will truly be missed by family and friends.
