Regina G. Black, 72, of Spring Hill, passed away June 21, 2018. She was born on August 2, 1945 in Norwalk, Connecticut. She was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini. Regina was a United States Army veteran and retired as a Major from the United States Army Reserve. She was a teacher, coach, insurance fraud investigator, and a 911 dispatcher in Fairfield, Connecticut for the police department. Retiring to Florida 20 years ago, she opened "Mary & Rae's Pet Sitting Service" and worked at Silverthorn golf and Country Club as a starter. She called it the best low paying job she ever had. Regina was an avid golfer and loved her extended family here in Florida and back in Connecticut. She was a rabid New England Patriot and University of Connecticut Women's basketball fan. Regina is survived by her 3 nephews, Don Barbee of Spring Hill, Jim Barbee of Milton, Delaware; Bob Nachajski of Spokane, Washington; niece, Carol Jane Cato of Spokane, Washington; numerous great and great great nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Mary Trautman and her family. Regina also loved all her fur babies. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 at 280 Mariner Boulevard. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 29 at 11am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donation maybe made to American Cancer Society or the animal rescue organization of your choice. Regina, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
