Richard Lee "Dick" Brooks, 84, of Groveland passed away January 21, 2014 at Promise Hospital of Florida at the Villages. He was born June 3, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa and moved to Central Florida in 1956. Richard was a lifetime member of the Elks Club #2165 in Winter Garden and a member of the Orange Blossom Chorus in Orlando. He loved golf, music, tending his vegetable garden and spending time with his family.
Richard was greeted in heaven by his loving wife Carol, parents Dale and Blanche, sister Patty, and 2 grandchildren; Brandi and Junny. He is survived
by 2 sisters; Beverly of Illinois, Diane of Iowa, 5 sons; Randy (Jackie) Brooks of Apopka, Scott (Debbie) Brooks of Ocoee, Chris (Tammy) Brown of Salisbury, NC, Bobby Brooks of Groveland and Rick (Stacey) Brooks of Lady Lake, 2 daughters; Vicki (Junny) Rios-Martinez of Cocoa and Cherie (Wayne) Maroon of Groveland, 14 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and countless friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at West Orange Country Club, 3300 West Orange Country Club Drive, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
