Richard Joseph Schlachter, 81 of Mascotte, Florida, passed away April 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Norwalk, Ohio, to Edwin and Irene Schlachter. Also preceeding Richard were 7 sisters & 1 brother. He has been a Florida resident since 1989. One of the few things that rivaled his love of "The Rays" was his family; To Richard family was everything, in good times and bad. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Schlachter; daughters, Deb Ringer and her husband Bill, Diane Starkey and her husband Eric Gotto, Annette Parkhurst and her husband Dennis, Dolores Gross and her husband Mark Carillio, Barbara Pierson and her husband Bob; son, William Schlachter and his wife Sue; sister Pat Curtis (David); 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, along with many other family and friends. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
