William "Bill" Preston was born in Pittsburgh, Pa in 1938. He was a career Army soldier, spending 27 years in the Army and serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was married to Yong Mi, his devoted wife of 34 years, and was predeceased by their son Neil Preston, parents Dorothy Tegtmeier, father William C. Preston and stepfather John "Bus" Tegtmeier, he is survived by daughters Tracy Braga and her husband Renny, Patricia Scurlock and grandson Ryan Preston. He was known for his wicked sense of humor and his love of watching sports, especially his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. He was extremely proud of his military service, retiring as a Sargent Major (SGM) in the Army. His career took him to posts in Ft. Meade, MD, Ft Lewis, WA, Okinawa, Japan, and South Korea.
